Sousse, Monastir and Port El Kantaoui

Duration : 6 h 30 Drive : 1 h drive Pick-up at your hotel Private excursion

The Sahel coast in an extended morning: the marina of Port El Kantaoui, the UNESCO-listed walled medina of Sousse, then the ribat of Monastir and the Bourguiba Mausoleum overlooking the sea.

The excursion

The Tunisian Sahel, an hour south of Hammamet, is home to some of the country's most beautiful coastal towns. The day begins in Port El Kantaoui, a marina of white houses where you can enjoy a coffee overlooking the sailing boats.

The medina of Sousse, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the best preserved in the Maghreb. Its 9th-century ramparts enclose the ribat, a former religious fort, the Great Mosque and lively souks, perfect for souvenir shopping. In Monastir, the Ribat of Harthema, which has served as a set for several films, faces the sea, a short walk from the Mausoleum of Habib Bourguiba.

Short and with no long drives, this private excursion suits families and travellers who prefer to keep their afternoon free.
